The pearl on this piece was chosen for luster first: every bead is checked under a daylight lamp and anything milky or chalky is rejected. Pearls are organic — they enjoy being worn (natural skin oils keep them bright) and dislike perfume spray, so put them on last when getting ready.
The chain is finished with a secure lobster-style clasp and a 5 cm extender, so one necklace covers three lengths. It lies flat against the skin and resists twisting in wear.
Edges are broken and rounded so nothing catches on hair or knitwear.
Tarnish is normal on sterling and wipes off in seconds with a polishing cloth; it is not a defect and it never means the silver is 'fake'.
